Below are the steps our volunteers take to make sure our neighbors receive assistance.
How we complete deliveries
01
IDENTIFY FAMILIES
We vet and qualify families based off of need. Families can apply easily here. Once approved, we contact the families to strategize a one time or on-going delivery service.
02
SORT ORDERS
Our volunteers will place orders that contain the groceries, household, or personal care items based off of the needs for each family from select stores and approved item list.
03
DELIVERY
Orders are dropped off in discrete packaging. These steps effectively achieve our goal of providing groceries, household, and personal care items to our neighbors in need.
We utilize different approaches to collect groceries, household, or personal care items.
Sourcing necessities.
DONATIONS
100% of your dollars go straight to buying groceries, household, or personal items for families. Our volunteers will shop at local grocery stores to collect the items to deliver.
FOOD RESCUE
We leverage the Food Rescue Hero Network’s technology to divert pounds of perfectly edible food from heading to the landfill and divert it to families in need. COMING SOON.
SUPPLY DRIVES
Our warehouse stores, sorts, and delivers items directly from generous donors who drop off goods to our supply drives. We aim to drop off food from our drives the same day.
EVENTS
We routinely conduct fundraisers or events to raise capital that goes straight to purchasing items from local stores, while also bringing awareness to our cause.
Peoples Collective firmly believes in helping disadvantaged members of our community to ensure everyone can be provided with the necessary groceries, household, and personal care items for themselves and their families. Though we are aware that poverty will always be an issue, we plan to do our part in increasing the condition of those around us.
BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY TOGETHER.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you select a family?
We have implemented a rigorous backend process for approving families to ensure those who receive our services truly need them. As part of this process, we review some important documents such as tax returns and recent pay stubs. This helps us make sure that our resources are going to the families who need them the most.
How do you ensure items are actually delivered?
We have a system in place where each approved applicant is given a unique security code, known only to them. When a delivery is made, the applicant must provide this code back to us to confirm that the delivery was received by the correct family. This helps ensure that the intended recipient is receiving the items.
How are groceries, household, and personal care items purchased?
We have a simple process for getting items to our approved families. Our staff places an online order at a grocery store that we have approved. Once the order is ready, our volunteers pick up the items and deliver them to the family's address. Alternatively, families can choose to pick up the order themselves if they prefer.
